The only restriction is that you cannot use that particular shower until the grout and silicone have cured. If you have a second bathroom it is a non-event. If you have not, tell us and we will plan the timing around it.

Very often, yes. A large share of leaking showers are leaking through failed grout and perished silicone rather than through plumbing or a failed membrane. If the water is escaping through the joints, regrouting and resealing solves it.

If the waterproof membrane underneath has genuinely failed, it will not, and we will tell you that at the quote rather than take your money for a job that cannot work.

A regrout is a small fraction of the cost of a full bathroom renovation, typically an order of magnitude less, with a fraction of the disruption.

The actual price depends on the size of the area, the condition of the existing joints, and whether you also need tile repairs, waterproofing or mould treatment. That is exactly what the free on-site quote is for: you get a fixed number in writing before you commit to anything.

Household sprays bleach the surface colour out, which is why it looks gone for a fortnight. The colony itself is living inside porous grout and perished silicone where a spray cannot reach. We treat it at the source and replace the material it was living in, using mould-resistant products.

After that it is mostly about moisture. Running an exhaust fan during and after showers makes a genuine, measurable difference.

As a general rule, allow around 24 hours so the grout and silicone can cure properly. Using it too early is one of the few ways to compromise an otherwise good job.
